Jim Atkinson, of Durham, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 3rd in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Marg Atkinson and the late Heather. Loving father of Melody & Alex Martin, and Kelly & Robyn Atkinson. Cherished Grandpa to Taylor and Brooke. Dear brother of Shirley Atkinson, George & Carol Atkinson, David Atkinson, and Ellen & Ken Russwurm. Brother-in-law of Alice Atkinson, Tracy-Lynn Schaus-Atkinson, Lynn Lerch, Gayle MacKay, Bernice & Nelson Granger, Kathleen Scott, Barb Gull, and Susan & Rob Blackburn. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and his many friends. Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Thursday, December 7th from 4 – 8 p.m., where members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 308 will hold a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be held at the Durham Community Centre on Friday at 1 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 12 – 12:45 p.m. A casual come and go will be held following the funeral service from 2:30 – 5 p.m. Interment at Durham Cemetery.
