Calvin Matheson of Spanish, and formerly of Atwood, passed away on Wednesday, October 4th in his 82nd year. Husband of Deborah Matheson. Father of Jodie & Paul Dewar, Jeff Matheson, Dwayne & Diane Matheson, Patti & Mike Smith, and Tim & Kim Matheson. Grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 4. He will also be missed by Deb’s children Sarah Smith, Nichole & Dale Jamieson, and Adam & Tammy Hamilton, and their families. Brother of Brad & Carla Matheson. Predeceased by his parents Alvin & Ferne Matheson, and sister Carol Thompson and her husband Richard. A private family funeral service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday, October 16th at 11a.m. The service will be livestreamed, and the link available on the Eaton Funeral Home website. A celebration of Calvin’s life will then be held at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Atwood, on Monday, October 16th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Donegal Cemetery.
