Vernon Orville Porter of Hanover, and formerly of Durham and Paisley, passed away on Wednesday, September 6th in his 94th year. Beloved husband for 68 years to the late Laverne. Loving father of Linda & Brad Campbell, Carolyn & Mike Giesler, Mark Porter & Heather, and Donna & Ed Eckhardt. Cherished grandfather to be missed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother Norman & Lenore Porter, and his sister Glenna McComb. Predeceased by his daughter Shirley MacIntosh, his son-in-law Allan Becker, his grandsons Adam Porter and Greg Ferguson, and his sisters Wilma Brown, and Myrtle Lawrence. A private graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery. Friends and families are welcome to come to the come and go celebration of Orville’s life that will be held at the Durham Legion on Monday, September 11th from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
