Walter Alfred Grubb of Listowel passed away peacefully, with family at his side, at Caressant Care, Listowel, on Monday, September 25, 2023, in his 89th year.
Husband of the late Anne (Runstedler). Brother of John & Joan Grubb of Walkerton, Austin Grubb of Wingham, Doreen Weber, and Phyllis Niesen, both of Walkerton, Francis Grubb of Listowel, and brother-in-law of Norbert Wilhelm, and Leona Grubb, both of Walkerton. Loved and remembered by his Godson Richard Wilhelm, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Edward and Amelia (Benniger) Grubb, siblings Raymond Grubb and wife Helen, Dorothy Wilhelm and husband Jerome, Geraldine Wilhelm, Lucille Miller and husband Richard, Shirley Grubb, and Edward Grubb, his sisters-in-law Leona Grubb, and Brenda Grubb, brothers-in-law Stanley Weber, and Don Niesen, and by infant siblings Marlene and Joseph.
Walter was born on September 4, 1935 in Carrick Township. He married Anne Runstedler on October 12, 1968, and they remained loving and devoted partners until her death in 2021. Walter was a long-time and faithful member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel. He loved playing cards and gardening, and would happily help Anne with her quilting. They enjoyed many years living at The Village in Listowel, where you would see him helping his neighbours with snow blowing and lawn cutting.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel, on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior and reception to follow. The service will be livestreamed and the link available on the funeral home website. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
Memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Listowel, or Caressant Care Residents’ Council would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
