Joan MacKay of Ripley, beloved wife of the late John D. MacKay, passed away on at Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton, on Wednesday March 22, at the age of 88. She was born to the late Florence “Flora” and Arthur Courtney. Greatly missed by sons Ken, Eoin and Lisa, and Darryl and Lianne, and daughter-in-law Debbie. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Sarah and Jeremy, Rachel and Matt, John, Dan, Cailin and Steve, Jack and Claire and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother Mervyn and Gloria Courtney, sister Shirley and Bob Harris and sister-in-law Shirley Courtney. Predeceased by son Brian, sister Evelyn and Grant Rice and brother Lloyd Courtney. A memorial service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Ripley on Saturday May 27, at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior. Interment Ripley Cemetery.
