Menno Eelkema of Listowel, went home to be with his Lord, on Tuesday, January 3, in his 85th year. Husband of Effie Eelkema. Father of Brian & Lisa Eelkema, Jacqueline & Frank Geerlinks, Selia & Fred Koops, Alice & Rick Meloche, Brenda & Greg Hiemstra, Sara & Mark Verkuyl, Krista & Jim Halland and the late Mark Eelkema. Grandfather of 18, and great-grandfather of 6. Brother of Elisabeth DeBliek, and George & Patricia Eelkema, and brother-in-law of Greta Eelkema & Harry Harsevoort, Jack Klinker, Riek Klinker, and Linda Klinker. Predeceased by parents Wes & Sylvia Eelkema, brothers John, Bill, and Peter, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Harry Klinker, Rennie Feddema, Alice Klinker, and Don Klinker. Visitation will be held at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Listowel, on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
