Catherine Bell passed away peacefully at Rockwood Terrace in Durham on January 13, in her 88th year. Catherine was the daughter of the late Irving and Elvin Elvidge. Beloved wife of the late John Bell. Loving mother of Ruth McPhail, Heather and Bjorn Andersen and Derek Bell. Devoted grandma of Laura and Travis, Julie and Jeane and Sonja and dear great grandma of Sophie. Also survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Falconer and brother-in-law Ronald Bell. Catherine will be sadly missed by her extended family and close friends. Predeceased by her brother Clare Elvidge, son-in-law Stuart McPhail and brothers-in-law Doug Falconer and Norman Bell and Shirley. A funeral service for Catherine will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Durham on Friday, January 20, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation prior to the service from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Spring interment in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Durham. www.greybrucecremation.com.
