Helen Ahrens, 91, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, at the Ritz Lutheran Villa. Beloved wife of the late Ivan Ahrens. Dear mother of Patricia and Michael MacRae and John McGrath. Loving grandmother of 4. Dear sister of Marian Pullman, Jack McLlwain, Ken and Lois McLlwain. Adoring great-grandmother of 7. Dear sister-in-law of Donna McLlwain and Vera Ahrens. Fondly remembered by her special step-daughter Carol Parent and step-granddaughter Jenna Parent. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends and the community. Predeceased by her parents Harvey and Ida McLlwain, brother Jim McLlwain, Larry McLlwain, sister-in-law Audrey McLlwain, grandson-in-law Jeff Rose and her first husband Edward McGrath. Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, Mitchell on Thursday, February 2, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Spring interment in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Mitchell.
