Sebastiaan “Gene” Verhoeve, 94, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 2, at the Ritz Lutheran Villa. Beloved husband of the late Annie Verhoeve. Dear father of Linda and David Rolph, Bill and Susan Verhoeve, John Verhoeve, Robert and Shirley Verhoeve, Kathy and Don Marriott, Diane and Steve Ritz, and Stephen and Carla Verhoeve, and daughter-in-law Anne Verhoeve; loving grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren; dear brother and brother-in-law of, Annie Verhoeve, Dien Van Oorschat, Bertha Verhoeve, Jan Leenaars, Ria Verhoeve, Tonny and de Laat Marynissen, Wim and Tiny Verhoeve, Antoon and Diny Verhoeve and Thom Ligthart. Predeceased by his parents Wilhelmus and Adriana Verhoeve, son Andy Verhoeve, brothers Kees Verhoeve, and Janus Verhoeve, sisters Willie Verhoeve, Jeanne Verhoeve, To Verhoeve, Riet Leenaars, and Corrie Ligthart, and brother-in-law Jan Van Oorschat. Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, Mitchell on Monday, December 5, for a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul, Mitchell, on Tuesday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre.
