Margaret Winnifred ‘Winnie’ Detweiler passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Palmerston Hospital on Saturday, September 10th. Born on February 17th, 1935 in Minto Township, Winnie Detweiler of Palmerston died at the age of 87. Dearly loved wife of the late Elroy Detweiler, and mother of Michael Detweiler and Jennifer, and Kelly Barfoot and Jeffrey. She was predeceased by her daughter Kymberly Brunner. Adoring grandmother to 5, and to 8 great-grandchildren. Winnie is survived by her sisters, Ruby Wick, and Merle Keller, and brothers Harold Whetham, George Whetham, and Percy Caudle. She will be missed by her dear friends, neighbours and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Hal and Caroline Whetham, brothers Floyd Whetham, and Calvin Whetham, and sister Donna Hymers. The memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Listowel on Saturday, September 24, at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Palmerston Cemetery.
