Douglas Mercey of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, October 28. He was 86. Beloved husband of Pat. Loving father of Cathy and Andy Harron, Kim and Dennis Wettlaufer, Michele Cassidy, and David and Kelly Mercey. Cherished grandfather of Brandy and Shane Lester, Jennifer and Jeff Green, Todd Cassidy, Derek and Claire Wettlaufer, Daniel and Hose Cassidy, Branden Mercey and Zoe, Jarred Mercey, Rehgyn Mercey, Jakob Harron and Sadie, Sheldon and Dani as well as great- grandchildren Tyson, Emmerson, Tava, Reid, Jaxx, Emma, and Frank. Doug will be dearly missed by his sisters Joan Dekruyf and Janet Ottman. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law John Dekruyf, Royal Ottman, and his parents Harold and Ellen Mercey. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hanover on Tuesday, November 2, from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow with inurnment in the Hanover Cemetery. www.rhodyfamily.com.
