Joan Poechman, of RR#2 Walkerton, at the Walkerton hospital on Wednesday, March 31. She was 84. She was born to the late Roy and Isabel Tanner. Joan is mourned by her loving husband Allan Poechman. She was a devoted mother to Terry Poechman and Penny Croft, Patricia Strong and Steve Albert and Daryl Poechman and Patricia Smith. She was a loved and admired Grandma of 5, and doting great-grandma to 5. Joan is fondly remembered by her siblings Betty and Jack Nelson, Ruth and the late Alan Engel, and Shane and Gail Tanner, her sister-in-law Edith Austin, as well as her nieces and nephews and their families. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother Beverley Tanner, and Allan’s siblings Francis, Harold, Lillian and Willard. A public visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Easter Monday, April 5, from 2-4 pm. Please call the funeral home during office hours of 10-3pm to book a time. As per COVID -19 Directives, all attendees must wear a mask and observe social distancing rules as there are a limited number of people allowed in the facility at any one given time. A Private Family Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 6, at 10:30 am, at Holy Family Church. In order to adhere to provincial restrictions, the family invites you to watch the Mass via holyfamily.ca. Interment in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Carlsruhe.
