Hopf, George (Age 80, Hanover)

George Hopf, of Hanover, passed away peacefully surrounded by love at Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce in Owen Sound on Wednesday, April 28. He was 80. Survived by loving and devoted wife Eileen Hopf. Father of Lisa Hopf and Shane, and Lori and Tim Schmidt. Grandpa was special and had a kind heart for his grandchildren. Missing him are Braeden Golden and friend Dominique, Joshua Schmidt and Jenna Schmidt and friend Phoenix. George will be remembered by his siblings Alfreida and Lloyd Gutscher, Ron and Myrtle Hopf, Wayne Day, Marlene and Ron Whitehead, Dorothy and Clark Fortune, Jake and Carol Hopf and Shirley and Roy May. Treasured by his many nieces, nephews and their families as well as his Godson Christopher Schaus. George will be remembered by his in-laws Douglas and Donna Schaus, Bob and Diane Schaus, Deb and Mike Roth. Predeceased by his parents, sisters Jean Harron, Betty Lane, Pat Schiestal, Caroline in infancy, brother Donald Hopf and God daughter Diane Gutscher. To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside will be held at Hanover Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca
