Verna Speers of Palmerston passed away on Friday, February 12, in her 84th year. Daughter of the late Harold and Helen Arthurs. Beloved wife of the late John Speers and special friend of the late Rudy Biel. Cherished mother of Jo-Anne and Warren Caughill, Kevin and Tiona Speers and Janna and Don Dodds. Special Grandma to Brent and Ang Caughill; Carla Caughill and Trevor Loos, Cora-Lee Crouse and Pete Lucas, Rhiannon Speers & Kaity Speers; Rachael Speers and Mike Grass; Eliza Dodds and to her 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Also remembered by Warren’s family. Survived by In-laws – Merle Arthurs; Roger & Pat Simmons; Gord Speers; Dorothy Speers; June Speers; Jean Hoffmann. Predeceased by Sons Paul and Kirk; Brother – Lloyd Arthurs, Sister – Karen Simmons; Father & Mother In-Law Wesley & Clarissa Speers; Margaret Speers; In-laws – Frank Speers, Alex Speers, Jim Speers, Eleanor Taylor, Brunhilde Speers, Herb Hoffmann. A Private Family Service will be held in the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Friday.
