Mabel Mercier passed away at Strathcona LTC, Mount Forest on Sunday, January 3, in her 88th year. Wife of the late Harvey Mercier. Mother of Lisa Schovanek and Cameron Lang. Remembered and missed by her brothers and sisters Faye Binkley, Keith and Wendy Newman, Sharon Lett and Harlen Whetham, Dale Newman and Lil Bode, Lloyd Newman and Cathy Cybulskie, and Bonnie and Frank Mantler, and by her sisters-in-law Frances Newman, and Elaine Newman. Mabel is also fondly remembered by her friends, Harvey’s family, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Martha Newman, her brothers Gerald Newman, Robert Newman, and Donald Newman, her sister Janice Hale and husband Bernard, sisters-in-law Carmie Newman and Mildred Newman, and brothers-in-law Andrew Lett and Jack Binkley. Private funeral arrangements entrusted to the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
