Doris Evelyn Unruh-McDougall (nee Bailey), formerly of Hanover, passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls on Thursday, December 3, 2020. She was 93.

Doris was born in Bentinck Township on March 25, 1927 to the late Alfred and Mary (nee Wise) Bailey. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elmwood. She was a 4H Club Leader and a long time member of the Louise Womens Institute. She made lasting friendships with the women and served the community at the same time. Doris enjoyed her career as a custodian for the former James A. Magee School, now Hanover Heights Community School. Although cleaning and picking up after children can be tedious, she did so with a smile and enjoyed the interaction with the students and staff daily until her retirement. It was only in 2016 she decided to move from Hanover to Niagara Falls to be closer to her daughter.

Survived by daughter Judy (Frank) Perry of St. Davids, Ontario. Loved grandmother of Christopher (Amy) Unruh of Fergus and great grandmother of Eloise, Clara and Alex. Loved by her sister Hazel Switzer of Hanover. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her first husband John Unruh, second husband Duncan McDougall, son Ivan Unruh, sisters Ruth Brown, Beatrice Krauter and infant sister Marjorie Bailey and brothers Clifton and Wilbur Bailey.
