Joe Webster Gibson Sept 25, 1928 – Oct 8, 2020
Joe passed away peacefully in his 93rd year, October 8, 2020 with his family by his side. He was first and foremost a family man, married for 69 years to his sweetheart, Isobel (nee Chowen). His greatest achievement and his main focus was the joy he had with his family. John & Wendy Armstrong-Gibson, Joanne Gibson-Jewitt, Paul Gibson & Michelle Braecker, Elizabeth & Rob McGregor. Cherishing memories of a much loved grandpa are: Lindsay & Joseph Louwagie, Jeff & Amanda Gibson, Heather Gibson & Dan Horta, James Gibson & Alyssa Sherry, Kendra & Todd Redegeld, Kimberly Jewitt, Kelly & Mike Campbell, Sonya Gibson, Amber Ferrara, and PJ Gibson. Along with 10 great grandchildren Kinsley & Presley Gibson, Brayden, Delaney & Gibson Redegeld, Julie & Kylie Good, Deakin & Lannin Campbell and Kingston Ferrara. Fondly remembered by his sister in laws Bev Chowen and Ann Gibson & Families. Joe has been welcomed in heaven by his parents John & Mae (nee Elliott) Gibson, mother in law Florence Chowen Elliott Ludvigsen (nee Knox), his brother Fred, and brother in law Bill Chowen, as well as a host of friends. Joe was a lifelong farmer and while he was always happiest when he was busy, he was even happier when he was doing something for others. This unselfish, gentle soul of a man kept himself busy serving his community and making a living on the farm. As well as being a cow/calf beef and cash crop farmer he also did custom combining, weed spraying or cutting wood. He unselfishly gave back to his community while serving on the School Board, Church committees, local Fire Area Boards, on the Farm Safety Association Board, Hullett Township Council and as the Huron County Tree Commissioner and Huron County Weed Inspector. He also enjoyed serving on the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority and teaching driver training to young snowmobilers through the OFSC. No matter where he went or what he was doing, he always enjoyed the people he met, creating many lasting friendships. Friends will be received at Clinton United Church, 105 Ontario St., Clinton, on Saturday October 17, 2020 from 12 noon until time of the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Cremation.
