Mervyn Leonhardt, 99, of Brodhagen passed away peacefully at the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell on Saturday, September 19, 2020.
Beloved husband of the late Enid Leonhardt (1999). Dear father of Richard Leonhardt (Jan), David Leonhardt, Doug Leonhardt (Janice), Karen McKinney, Sherri Leonhardt, Virginia Porter (Brian), Roger Leonhardt (Carol) and Jeff Leonhardt. Loving grandfather of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Alvin Leonhardt and Laurine Smith. He will be remembered by his special friend Dorothy Elligsen and his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Christian and Emma Leonhardt, grandson Derek, brother Lester, sister-in-law Velma Leonhardt and brother-in-law John Smith.
Merv owned and operated Mervyn H. Leonhardt Plumbing and Heating in Brodhagen for many years. He was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, the Brodhagen Chamber of Commerce and the Seaforth Harmony Kings.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private family service will be held with interment in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Brodhagen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Ritz Lutheran Villa Redevelopment Fund would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
