Raymond “Ray” Bernard Zettler, of Walkerton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound at the age of 75.
Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Diebold). Loving father of Stephanie (Bud) of Walkerton. Most loving Papa to Emma and Sara. Dear brother of Margaret Zettler of Walkerton, Joe of Walkerton, Marian Smith of Surrey BC, Bob (Marilyn) of Dorchester and Jane (Bill) Lacey of Chepstow. He will be always remembered by his many nieces and nephews as well as the Diebold family.
Ray was predeceased by his son Jason “Jake” and parents Albert and Agnes (nee Siegel) Zettler.
Ray was born and raised in Walkerton, then married Marlene and resided in Cargill for the next 35 years. He was a proud business owner of Walkerton Farm Supply for 38 years. Ray was a member of the Walkerton Knights of Columbus, active member of his community and was known to many. After retiring in 2007, he had time to enjoy his hobbies. Ray’s love of gardening, keeping several lawns in perfect condition, playing cards and singing will never be forgotten. His big grin, huge heart, great sense of humour and his famous whistle will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Private family visitation followed by a private Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Leszek Szczygiel and Fr. Tom Moisan officiating. A live-stream of the service will be available to the public.
Interment in Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Chepstow.
