Wheeler, George (Age 89, Brussels)

It is with profound sadness that the family of George Albert Wheeler announce his passing on August 5, 2020 at the age of 89.
George was born on March 21, 1931 to Augustus and Eva ‘Pearl’ Wheeler and was the youngest of five boys.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he considered his family to be the most important thing in life.
George’s favourite pastime was building and flying radio controlled airplanes. He even constructed a private airstrip at his farm. He enjoyed camping and vacationing with his wife Shirley. He was a member of the Optimist, lawn bowling and curling clubs and his hobbies included creating stained glass works. was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed working around the yard, chatting with other farmers and crop tours. He will be remembered as a very calming gentle man who always took the time to make everyone feel special. Everyone mattered to George!
George will be lovingly remembered by his two children Carol and Kevin (Michelle) and his grandson Kurtis, all of whom he was very proud, and his sister-in-law Isabelle Wheeler.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
George was predeceased by his parents, his wife Shirley Marie (Machan), his four brothers William ‘Bill’ (Delores), Robert ‘Bob’, John ‘Jack’ (Mildred), Walter ‘Ross’ (Eleanor) and his son-in-law Simon McAully.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, on August 9, 2020, at the Brussels Cemetery in Brussels, Ontario.
Please do no attend if you are feeling ill and if possible please wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brussels United Church or the Huronlea Home for the Aged.
