Goetz, William "Bill" (Age 86, Mildmay)William ‘Bill’ Goetz of Mildmay passed away peacefully at home, in his 87th year with his family by his side.  Beloved husband of 63 years to Patricia (Fischer) Goetz. Loving father of Marilyn (Larry) Jagelewski of Walkerton, Brenda (Clayton) Farrell of Kincardine, Patti (Brian) Gutscher of Formosa, Brian (Nancy) Goetz of Wroxeter, Bet (John) Veenhof of Chepstow, Mark (Dawn) Goetz of Mildmay and Tim (Wendy) Goetz of Mildmay. Proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren, Shannon (Alec), Chris (Laurie), Shawn (Steph), Matt (Esther), Tyler (Courtney), Daryl (Julia), Ben (Alison), Sarah (Arbbie), Breanne (Aaron), Cayley (Adam), Lucas, Courtney (Brad), Melissa, Dustin (Jenna), Beth (Brandon), Scott, Kristin, Vanessa, Cody (Ashley), Craig (Kayla), Tyson,  Jesse and MacKenzie. Cherished by 38 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hailey, Abbygail, Olivia, Kayla, Emma, Owen, Nick, Sydney, Zach, Jake, Paxton, Samantha, Liam, Aidyn, Colson, Boston, Harper, Brody, Remi, Leah, Wyatt, Bailey, Claire, Everly, Camryn, Leighvi, Casen, Sophie, Waylin, Emmett, Ender, Quintin, Mason, Camden, Veronica, Kove and Oscar. Survived by siblings Ann (Jerry) Fischer, Marg Weber, George (Rita), Isabel (Nick) Stroeder, Marlene (Gary) Harkness and Barb (Gary) Dahms. Fondly remembered by the Fischer family, and by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by son Bill Jr. (1982), parents Albert & Verena (Huber) Goetz, brother David, and sisters Delores Cronin, Joan Borho and Mary Simpson. Bill’s family are extremely proud of his many accomplishments including Agriculture Canada inspector, judge of butter and cheese at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, 4-H leader, Mildmay Agricultural Society board member, and Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board Trustee and Chairman. In his retirement, he served as the Mayor of South Bruce, Warden of Bruce County, and Westario Power board member.  Bill was passionate and dedicated in bettering agriculture and his community. Along with his family, he operated a 189-acre beef farm in his spare time.  Bill lived to see his Goetz family farm reach its century status. A private family visitation will be held at the Goetz family farm on Sunday, followed by a private family mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Formosa, on Monday, August 24th.   Interment at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Mildmay.  A memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Formosa, on Saturday August 29th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. for friends and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hanover & District Hospital Foundation- Dialysis Unit or the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and may be made through the Greg Roberts Funeral Home, Mildmay.
