Culbert, Mary (Age 86, Ripley)
Published on 1/6/2020
Mary Elizabeth Culbert (née Macpherson) of Ripley passed away peacefully after a short illness on May 30, 2020 at SBGHC – Kincardine in her 87th year. She was predeceased by Murray Culbert, her beloved husband of 63 years in September 2018, and her brother John of Vancouver. Loving mother of Helen Orr (Dale) of Kincardine, Paul (Ethel) of Woodbridge and Ian (Gilles, Justin and Nadia) of Ottawa; cherished grandmother of Nolan, Brendan, and Matthew; sister to Sandy Macpherson (Oshawa).
Born in Kincardine to Frank and Ella Macpherson, Mary was an unlikely candidate for a farmer’s wife in Huron Township. She took up the challenge and excelled at it. She loved to spend time in her flower and vegetable gardens, she was a fantastic cook and baker (her butter tarts were the best!) and only her immediate family knew just how funny she could be. She will be missed immensely.
A private funeral and interment ceremony has been held at the Ripley-Huron Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
