Security Guard Quits In Protest At A Jelly Roll Concert
In case you missed it, a security guard at a Jelly Roll concert recently quit mid-show because his boss was mad that he helped a man in a wheelchair get a better view of the stage.
The security guard’s name is Tony Demaree, and he was working security at the North Dakota State Fair when he let a fan in a wheelchair move in front of the barricade.
Then his boss told him he was incompetent, so he tossed his vest and walked off the job right then.
Since then, the moment has gone viral, and now Tony is finally speaking out about the incident.
“My job was to keep that area clear. But if nobody’s complaining, and he’s not in the way . . . why not let him enjoy it? He deserves it.”
Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, has been trying to get in touch with him to thank him personally.
