Carly Pearce Opens Up About Heart Condition
Carly Pearce has a heart condition called “pericarditis,” which is an inflammation of the tissues that help hold the heart in place.
She’d been living with it for years and had talked about it before, but it took a while to figure out what was wrong.
Carly had been dealing with “intense chest pain” and shortness of breath, which was concerning because her dad suffered a heart attack when she was 19.
But in a recent interview, she revealed that her doctors initially thought it was nothing.
“My biggest piece of advice for anybody is: Listen to your body, and be your own advocate . . . a lot of doctors dismissed me, and I was persistent until I got a diagnosis.”
She’s doing a lot better now.
