Jackson Dean Considers His Dog Elk To Be His Son
If you follow Jackson Dean on socials or if you’ve seen the video for his song “Big Blue Sky” off his new album, On the Back of My Dreams, then you’ve seen his dog, Elk.
But Elk is much more than just a dog to Jackson, although he’s not entirely sure what type of dog he is.
“I’ve heard conflicting reports on what breed he is. I went unsupervised on a Monday and typed in cattle dogs to the Googles, and he was like the second thing that popped up. You know, I really wanted a Heeler, but he ain’t no Heeler. He’s a little goblin thing. I’ve heard Catahoula, I’ve heard Mountain Cur, I’ve heard Dutch Malinois. Yeah, he’s a mutt, but he’s my son. He’s great. But yeah, we rescued him from a shelter, and we got him when he was about two, so he’s gonna be about three now. One of the best dogs I’ve been around, period, just all around. Just with people, he just wants to love ya. He might be one of the better things that I’ve done in my life.”
