Sara Evans & Martina McBride On The Changing Music Industry
Sara Evans recently brought Martina McBride on her podcast “Diving in Deep with Sara Evans” to talk about the many struggles new musicians face today.
They both lamented at how hard it is for new artists trying to break into the industry now, compared to when they did.
Sara said,
“These days, I feel really bad for singers and musicians who are coming to town and trying to get a deal, because they’re meant to have a million followers on TikTok and Instagram before a label will even look at them.”
Sara’s debut album was in 1997 and she has kids now that are interested in music as a career.
“Honestly, I don’t even know what to tell them. I have no idea.”
Martina responded by saying…
“I don’t even know how labels work anymore. It’s like a whole different world.”
