Morgan Wallen’s bar in downtown Nashville was supposed to have its grand opening this past Memorial Day Weekend, but it didn’t happen, and it’s now postponed with no opening date in sight.

The restaurant group that owns Morgan’s bar put out this statement,

“When we open, we want ‘This Bar’ to be an exceptional experience for guests. Unfortunately, the process requires more time, and we are not able to open and provide that experience for Memorial Day Weekend.”

They went on to say that they, “look forward to serving guests soon.” But how “soon” is anyone’s guess.

“Billboard” said that the reason for the delay is because the restaurant/bar is still waiting on its final inspections. But they declined to answer whether the delay was because they’ve been denied a liquor license.

Those sources did confirm that this is NOT related to the Nashville City Council voting 30-3 to deny a large sign with Morgan’s name being put up. But who knows what’s going on behind closed doors?

Councilman Jordan Huffman was one of the more outspoken representatives that voted against Morgan’s sign. He said that Morgan, quote, “Doesn’t belong in this town.”

But because of that remark, he said he and his family have been threatened. He tweeted that the threats included sexual violence against his wife, and pictures showing the inside of his home. His tweet has since been deleted.

As for the Wallen camp, there’s not been much. But what has come out, has been potent.

In what seemed to be a clap-back, Morgan posted a photo of one of his sold-out shows in Nashville.

And now Morgan’s mom is fighting back, too. Lesli Wallen commented,

“Way to go Morgan. The city of Nashville says, ‘Thank you for all of your help bringing in millions of revenue.'”
