Eric Clapton Pays Tribute To Willie Nelson
Eric Clapton has released a cover of the Willie Nelson hit, “Always on My Mind”.
Along with the song, he dropped a video that includes a montage of photos and clips of Nelson through the years.
The cover features guitar work by Ronnie Wood and is a collaboration with country singer Bradley Walker.
The song hit #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned three Grammy awards in 1983. Earlier this year, Willie celebrated his 90th birthday.
“Always on My Mind” was written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James, and was first recorded by Brenda Lee and first released by Gwen McCrae. Elvis Presley was the first to have a hit with it.
