Justin Moore Feels Like An Outsider, And He Likes It That Way
Justin Moore’s new album, Stray Dog, will be released on May 5th, and the title is a tip of Justin’s hat to the fact that he has often felt like a bit of an outsider in country music.
Despite having a successful 15-year career that is still going strong, including 11 #1 songs, multiple Platinum and Gold albums, a strong and consistent touring schedule and a successful podcast, Justin is frequently referred to as one of the most underrated voices in country music, and he is often overlooked on awards shows.
But Justin said he’s learned to embrace who he is and the success he has achieved by doing things his way.
“Just embrace what you are and who you are, whatever that is, whatever that looks like, and whatever that allows you to either accomplish or keeps you from accomplishing. You know, success is defined differently by a lot of different people. For me right now, success is defined by being the best son of God I can be, and the best dad I can be, and the best husband I can be. If I can sing pretty good, that’s pretty cool too. But as long as my kiddos look up to me and my wife’s happy with me, I’m pretty happy.”
