Brett Young Misses Playing Baseball
Brett Young was a star baseball player in high school and college.
In fact, he was such a standout pitcher in high school that he received pro offers from The Tampa Bay Rays and The Minnesota Twins after he graduated.
But Brett opted to postpone his major league career to go to college, where he continued playing baseball until a serious elbow injury ended his baseball career and led him to re-discover his love for music.
Brett admits he sometimes wonders how things might have turned out had he not gotten injured, but he never wishes things had worked out differently.
“I miss baseball all the time, especially when I watch baseball. It’s really hard to have made it to the level that I did and then have it basically taken away, you know, kind of halted, because you have all those ‘what ifs.’ But, that said, I don’t have any regrets. You know, everybody goes ‘Why didn’t you go back after you had surgery?’ Because I had already found music at that point. Never for one second, since I started music, have I wondered if I was supposed to do this. This has always been very clear to me.”
Major League Baseball’s opening day is today, the same day Brett kicks off his 5 TOUR 3 2 1, with special guests Morgan Evans and Ashley Cooke.
