Alan Jackson Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award
Alan Jackson received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 56th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 9th.
Dierks Bentley, Jon Pardi, and Lainey Wilson performed some of his greatest songs, and then Alan came out to sing, “Don’t Rock the Jukebox”.
Alan, who’s been struggling with a degenerative nerve condition, also gave a very moving speech before Carrie Underwood handed him the award.
“One night watching television and this movie came on about the life of Hank Williams. It just really inspired me. Audience member: We love you! Jackson: I came to Nashville with nothing. Carrie was talking about three chords and the truth. Mine was more like three chords and a prayer. “
