Lady A Postpones Tour As Charles Kelley Gets Sober
Lady A has made the decision to postpone their fall Request Line Tour in order to support Charles Kelley’s “journey to sobriety.”
The trio made the announcement via social media on Thursday, August 4th writing in part,
“We are a band, but more importantly … we’re family. We’re proud to say that Charles has embarked on a journey to sobriety. So, right now in order to be the healthiest, strongest and most creative band we can be, Lady A will take the time with the support of our families and team of professionals to walk through this together.”
Charles co-wrote a very personal song about his drinking issues called “Be Patient With My Love” for the band’s 2019 album, Ocean.
“This past couple years for me has been an interesting journey. I’ve definitely had a little bit of a ‘come to Jesus’ with my wife and the band about kind of controlling my drinking. I think anybody that’s been around me knows I can go after it pretty good.”
The Request Line Tour was scheduled to kick off on August 13th in Nashville. According to Lady A’s post, “new ticket information” will be released in the coming days.
Ironically, Lady A is featured on Breland’s new song, “Told You I Could Drink.”
