Dave Haywood Of Lady A Says His Mind Wanders On Stage
When Lady A performs live, they are in the zone and always give their fans everything they’ve got.
But Dave Haywood admits that his mind does wander from time to time.
“A lot of the show you’re focusin’ on bein’ in the moment, goin’ through playing the songs, focusin’ on what you’re doin’. But, you know, you look out and you see a fan, and sometimes I’m like, wait, I recognize that person. Do I know that person? I think I know that person. Is that a fan that was at the last show? Do I know who that is? And yes, if you see a sign, you’ll try to read it. Sometimes, just to be completely honest, you know, we play so late at night, halfway through the show I start getting hungry. And so I’m like, okay, I know we’re halfway through the show, We’re on ‘Hello World.’ I know we’re having Chick-fil-A afterward. I hope they make sure they bring the Chick-fil-A sauce because I need some nuggets. And then I’m like, okay, never mind. It’s the bridge of ‘Hello World.’ Come back, come back. So, you kinda drift in and out. But other than that we stay pretty much in the moment.”
