“Never Wanted To Be That Girl” Is Changing Lives

Carly Pearce and Ashely McBryde’s song “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” is changing lives.

A couple of weeks ago, Carly was performing in concert in Albany, NY, when she met two girls who reminded her why she pours her heart into her songs and shares her truth in her music.

“I saw this sign. It was on cardboard, so it was kinda hard to read, but I just kept feeling like I needed to know what it said. And this girl kept waving it during ‘Never Wanted to be That Girl.’ So, I finally asked her from the stage, what did her sign say. And it said, we were dating the same guy for two years. Your album saved us. And what she said was, they didn’t even know about each other. For two years they were dating the same guy and now they’re their friends. And it was just this crazy moment where you’re like, oh my goodness, I just am amazed at how this song has connected with people. And I’m just so proud of what this song is doing and I love Ashley and it’s just so cool.”
