Sara Evans Husband Tried To Hit Her With Car
Sara Evans’ husband, Jay Barker, was arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly intentionally tried to hit a car Sara was riding in with his car in the early hours of Saturday, January 15th.
Sara was a passenger in her friend’s car on her way home from attending a party at a neighbour’s house.
According to an affidavit obtained by CBS42, when they were passing the driveway, Jay was “reversing his vehicle at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them, but missed.”
According to reports, Sara immediately called the police and Jay drove away from the scene.
He later returned to speak to police who arrested him.
The Tennessean reports that Sara filed for divorce from Jay in August after 13 years of marriage.
The divorce complaint listed “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” on Jay’s part.
Jay was forced to remain in the Davidson County Jail on a 12-hour hold for domestic violence.
He was released Saturday evening after posting a $10,000 bond and is due in court on March 22nd.
