Jake Owen Mourns Dog
Jake Owen is mourning the sudden loss of one of his beloved dogs, a German Shepherd named Slash, on Saturday, July 10th.
He shared a goodbye post on social media.
Jake shared the cause of Slash’s death, saying his stomach had ‘flipped’ and even with emergency surgery, it wasn’t enough to save him.
Jake didn’t even make it home in time to say goodbye.
“Slash was my youngest German Shepherd and the sweetest most loving dog I’ve ever had. He was more like a human than a dog. While my other pups would run free across the farm, Slash just wanted to be by my side.”
In happier news, Jake is gearing up to host his Jake Owen & Friends: A Concert Made for You benefit at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on July 15th.
Proceeds from the concert are earmarked for the CMA Foundation’s efforts to support music education programs across the country.
