Garth Brooks Sings At Presidential Inauguration
Garth Brooks performed “Amazing Grace” a capella outside the Capitol Building in Washington, DC during the Inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
At the end of the song, he told the crowd,
“I’m going to ask you to sing this verse with me. Not only the people here but the people at home, those at work. As one, united.”
Other performers at the Inauguration included Lady Gaga, who sang the national anthem, and Jennifer Lopez, who sang “America the Beautiful” and “This Land Is Your Land.”
On Monday, January 18th, Garth told reporters via a Zoom press conference that Dr. Jill Biden extended the invitation to perform over the weekend and this his acceptance was “not a political statement.”
