Maren Morris Teases New Girl Group
Maren Morris has teased a newly-formed group of gals on social media called the Highwomen. In addition to Maren, the foursome includes Brandi Carlile, Amanda Shires and Natalie Hemby. Maren posted a picture of the four on Twitter.
Brandi recently told Popculture.com that the group just finished recording their first album and that the idea for the Highwomen stemmed from the lack of female artists on country radio these days. She said,
“Two women out of the Top 20 is not enough. Zero women on the Top 20 is not enough for country radio. We wanted to get together with compassion, and love, and tackle the problem of country music not being an amplifier for women, and we intend to do that.”
