Setting The Pace For Country Music In The 70’s

Michael fondly remembers his time spent on his grandfather’s and uncle’s ranches.  At the age of six, he learned to ride horses and he loved the stories he heard from his older family members.

One such story, about a ghost horse rescuing people in the desert, became the influence for one of his biggest hits.  “Wildfire” was the song, and it was a top five hit.  Michael wrote the song, lyrics and music, in one day.

Rolling Stone Magazine claimed he was the best new songwriter in the United States.  His song, “Cherokee Fiddle” became a hit for Johnny Lee.

Michael appeared in the film, “Hard Country”, which he co-wrote.
