The next Disney cartoon getting the live-action treatment is “Mulan”.  The original came out in 1998.  It’s based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, a woman who disguised herself as a man to take her father’s place in the army and go to war.

EDDIE MURPHY played her dragon sidekick Mushu.

Still on the way are a sequel to “Alice”, “The Jungle Book”, a “Dumbo” movie directed by TIM BURTON, and “Beauty and the Beast” starring EMMA WATSON.

As expected, NBC’s next live musical will be “The Wiz”.  Yesterday, they announced that it’ll premiere on December 3rd.  There’s no casting news yet.

The 1978 movie version of “The Wiz” starred Diana Ross as Dorothy, Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow and Richard Pryor as The Wiz.  “Ease on Down the Road” is the song everyone remembers from it.
