Guay, Jean-Claude (Age 78, Hanover)

Jean-Claude Wilfred GUAY, of Hanover, on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, in his 79th year. Born in St. Eustache, Manitoba, son of the late Pierre and Marie-Louise (Potvin) Guay.  Jean-Claude was a hard-working man and had a deep love for his family and friends. He had a passion for woodworking and could be found spending long hours in his shop crafting new items. He worked as a Boilermaker in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario as a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 128 & 555.  He was also a long-serving member of the Knights of Columbus. Survived by his loving wife Yvonne (nee Gauthier) Guay of Hanover. Loved father of Marc and Louise Guay of Cambridge, René and Norma Guay of Pickering, Nicole and Brent McDougall of Tillsonburg and Lévis and Melanie Guay of Barrie. Special Pépère of Stephanie and Alex, Jordan, Keara, Isaac, Grace, Jessie, Gabriel, and Nathaniel. Fondly remembered by his brother Fernand and Yvette Guay and Pierrette and Roland Menard both of Winnipeg, Manitoba and his sister-in-law Lucille Guay of Brantford. He will also be remembered by many dear friends and extended family. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Adrien, Daniel, Marcellin, Alderic, Robert, Roger, and sisters Denise, Desneiges Brais and Jacqueline Guay.
Visitation at Mighton Funeral Home, on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 2 until 4 and 7 to 8:30 PM, with Vigil and Knights of Columbus Prayers at 8:30 PM. Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11 AM, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Father Gary Schlack officiating. Cremation to follow, with Inurnment at Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover, at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
Memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
