John Edwin GALBRAITH, of Durham, on Monday, May 27th, 2019 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Carolyn Galbraith. Loving father of Sue Galbraith and her husband Kelly Gibson, and Kelly and her husband Blake Ellis. Cherished “Bapa” of Kody Ellis and his wife Amanda, and Kyle Ellis. Great-grandfather of Berkleigh Ellis and John Remington Ellis. Predeceased by his sister Donna McDonald. John will be missed by his faithful and loyal four-legged companion MacGyver.
John was an advocate for firearm safety training, he served as administrator for Ontario with FSESO (Firearm Safety Education Service Ontario), and he taught the Safe Gun Handling and Wilderness Courses.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be held at Knox United Church, Durham on Thursday, May 30th, at 2 PM, with visitation being held prior to the service at the church from 12 until 1:45 PM. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Knox United Church General Fund or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
