Satchell, Viola (Age 99, Frmly Gadshill And Stratford)

Viola Adeline Satchell, in her 100th year, formerly of Gadshill and Stratford, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Hillside Manor (Stratford). Born in Ellice Township, daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Wettlaufer) Riehl. Voila was active in her church, helping with kitchen duties and the bazaars. She received much enjoyment in supporting her husband who played in the Milt Satchell Band for many years. She loved to travel with her girlfriends. Loving wife of the late Milton Satchell (1999) and proud and loving mother of Jean Satchell (deceased 1953), Marilyn Ackersviller (deceased 2016), Murray (Marion) Satchell and Randy (Carol) Satchell. Loving grandmother of Brad (Brenda) Ackersviller, Terry Powell (Paul Cahill), Patti Blakey (Bill Kittmer), Brett Ackersviller, Shelley (Kevin) Preiss, Jason (Anne Marie) Satchell, Jody Satchell (Kelly McIntosh), Jeremy (Dana) Satchell, Deb & Mike McCarthy and Scott (Lisa) Satchell. Great grandmother of 19 and great great grandmother of 4. Viola will be fondly remembered by her brother Irvin (Muriel) Riehl and sister-in-law Kay Riehl along with her many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, her husband and daughters, Viola was predeceased by her siblings; Victor (Erma) Riehl, Stan (Marjorie) Riehl, Ted Riehl, Beatrice (Burnell) Wilker, Vera (Ted) Hunt, Eileen (Carl) Miller, Ferne (Bill) Fuller, Edna (Lawrence) Baumbach, Isabella (George) Satchell, Shirley (Floyd) Shrubsole and the Satchell family brothers and sisters-in-law. In keeping with Viola’s wishes, a private family service will take place with burial in Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice Foundation or a charity of one’s choice through the W.G. The family invite you to join them at the Mitchell Community Centre on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 1-3:30 p.m. for a celebration of Viola’s 100 years. A representative from the Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice Foundation will be in attendance to receive your donations to the hospice.
