Donald Calvin GARLAND, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home with the love of his life Shirley by his side on Friday, March 1, 2019. He was 90. Survived by his devoted wife Shirley (nee Kerslake) Garland of Hanover. Don and Shirley just recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Beloved father of Tom (Janet) Garland of Cargill, Donna (Norm) Reed of Pinkerton, Lawrie McCann of Waterloo, Louise (Marc) Guay of Cambridge, and Andrew (Laura Bean) Garland of Waterloo. Special grandfather of 14 grandchildren; Michael (Krista), Patrick (Shelby), Kristin (Brad), Mark, Kyle, Kimberly (Brent), Stephanie (Alex), Kalvin (Becki), Alysha (Matt), Noah, Jordan, AJ, Zach, Josh, and nine great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Elsie Garland of Swift Current, Saskatchewan and Christine Garland of Pinkerton. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, their families and special family friends Trudy and Linda. Predeceased by his brothers Arthur and Edgar Garland.
To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 7-9 pm with Members of the Hanover Masonic Lodge 432 and the Cargill Lodge 431 at 6:45 pm. A second visitation will be also held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 10 am followed by a Service of Remembrance at Grace United Church, Hanover at 11:00 am. Spring Inurnment in Douglas Hill Cemetery, Brockton. Memorial donations to the Grace United Church, Masonic Lodge or to charity of ones choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
