Willfang, Allan "Lefty" (Age 93. Frmly Hanover)

Allan “Lefty” Willfang, WWII Veteran of the Canadian Navy, formerly of Hanover, passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Arthur on Sunday, February 17, 2019.  He was 93. Survived by sons Garry Willfang of Fergus and Paul (Marlene) Willfang of Haileybury. Loved grandfather of Darryl (Janet), Teresa (Bill), Tammy (Acki), Sherry (Bill), Steven (Sara), Samantha (Derek), great grandfather of Justin, Michael, Darren, Ashley, Melissa, Brendan, Trenton, Johnathan, Timothy, Hailey, Mya, Nicholas and Paige and great great grandfather of Ryatt and Aubrey. Dear brother of Esther Wettlaufer of Walkerton and brother in law of Marilyn Lindsay of Hanover and Marybelle Willfang of Kitchener. Lefty will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his first wife Jessie (nee Lindsay) Willfang, second wife Joy Ruhl, son Donald Willfang, daughter in law Phyllis Willfang, great grandson Darren, brothers Harvey, Menno, Walter and Roy and sisters Violet in infancy and Oleda Pries.
Visitation at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 7-9 pm  with Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #130 to attend a Memorial Service at 6:45 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 1:00 pm, at First St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church (425 10th Avenue, Hanover).Interment in Hanover Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
