Tons of fall out after the White House Correspondents dinner. Comedian Michelle Wolf is now speaking out.
Her routine came under fire from President Donald Trump and his supporters who didn’t appreciate her cracks aimed at the administration, in particular her jokes about White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. and Kelly Anne Conway.
Wolfe said in response, “I wouldn’t change a single word that I said. I’m very happy with what I said, and I’m glad I stuck to my guns. I don’t know, maybe I’m projecting this, but I think sometimes they look at a woman and they think ‘Oh, she’ll be nice,’ and if you’ve seen any of my comedy you know that I don’t – I’m not,”
Several conservatives and some high-profile members of the press to condemn her, in some cases calling on Wolf to publicly apologize.
A slew of comedians are coming to Michelle Wolf’s defense after her monologue.
Jimmy Kimmel chimed in: “Dear “the media” – @michelleisawolf was FUNNY. Hire a juggler next year.”
Rosie O’Donnell tweeted that “wolf was perfect prepared and poignant. comics r truth tellers – deal with it.”
Dave Chappelle praised fellow comic Michelle Wolf for “speaking truth to power”. I know how hard it is to do what she did in front of that lame-ass crowd,” he said.
Chelsea Handler tweeted that the WHCD hosting job is an “unwinnable gig. If you go too far, you lose, if you don’t go far enough, you lose.
