The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum is asking Star Trek fans for any firsthand, pre-1976 images or film of the original studio model of the USS Enterprise.

The museum is looking to restore the 11″ long studio model of the Starship Enterprise that appeared in the original ’60s TV series.

Currently the model is off-limits to the public as it is undergoing restoration in a lab.

They need primary-source photos for reference to restore the ship.

This past week (Sept 8th) marked the 49th anniversary of the original Star Trek television series.

Anyone who may possess original photos of the model from before 1976 are urged to boldly go and contact [email protected]
