Jason Aldean Duet Was Meant For Someone Else

Jason Aldean’s Top Five duet, “Drowns The Whiskey,” featuring Miranda Lambert, was originally earmarked for another artist. At the time he first heard the song, Jason was in the studio working with his good friend Tyler Farr.

“‘Drowns The Whiskey’ was a song that I was actually producing some sides on Tyler Farr a couple years back, and it was a song that I actually wanted to record on him, and we ended up not recording it on him and so I told him if he didn’t cut it I was gonna cut it, so I did, and Miranda, I just always thought our voices sounded really good together, you know? They blended really well, and so I’d kind of been looking for something to do with her anyway, and so I sent it and she jumped on it and I had already sang my part. She came in and did her part and it just took what I already thought was a great song and made it even better.”

Jason’s High Noon Neon tour heads to Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; and Virginia Beach, VA this weekend with special guest Luke Combs and Lauren Alaina.
