Brothers Osborne Working on Next Album
Brothers Osborne’s John and TJ barely have time to process their two wins for New Vocal Duo and Vocal Duo of the Year at the ACM Awards before heading back into the studio to begin work on their next album.
Their 2016 album, Pawn Shop, produced the chart-topping, Grammy-nominated “Stay A Little Longer,” and now John told reporters backstage at the ACM Awards that he and TJ are ready to go in another direction.
“In a week and a half we get back in the studio to start our sophomore album. We’ve been writing like crazy the past few months and we’re eager to get back in the studio. I think we have some really cool songs and we have a direction that we really want to go in that we love and we’re excited about and we just hope that you guys kind of like it, too. (TJ) We’re taken a lot of time off this year to really work on that, work on writing and recording, and that was really, really weird because I’ve gone a long, long time without really making any money. I can definitely say the checks went up after that CMA award (John laughs), so having to turn that down was really weird but then I think keeping it about the music just all pays off in the long run. Here’s (clinks trophies) a classic example of that, I think.”
Brothers Osborne will open shows this weekend for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on the Soul2Soul The World tour on Friday, April 7th and Sunday, April 9th in New Orleans and Tupelo, respectively.
