George Strait’s brand new album, Cold Beer Conversation, was released in all Walmart stores on at Apple Music on Friday, September 25th. The superstar waited until just a few days before release to surprise fans with the news. He says he felt an urgency to get new music in the hands of his fans.

“In not touring now, it’s even more important that I get songs out there when I still have fans out there. I have great fans, and I run into them. ‘When are you gonna put a record out?’ ‘Well, it’s coming. I’m gonna do it.’ ‘Well, you’re not retiring?’ ‘No, I’m not,’ so it’s important to get my music out. I’m looking forward to getting this record out, because it’s been a while. I think it’s been almost a year since I’ve actually had a record on the radio that’s of any significance. I’m hoping that this album changes that.”

In celebration of the album drop, George launched the “Strait from Texas” pop up store, open for a limited time at the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in downtown Nashville. The shop is stocked with new merchandise including t-shirts, memorabilia and catalog albums along with the new Cold Beer Conversation. The store opened Friday morning and will remain for at least 10 days.

George will perform four exclusive engagements at the new Las Vegas Arena beginning on April 22nd. For more information, visit
